Shady Island Seafood Bar & Grill was opened in conjunction with the opening of Steveston Landing in November 1990. Steveston Landing is a privately owned commercial complex on the Fraser River incorporating a boardwalk along the water to allow everyone access to the riverfront, the commercial fishing fleet and various restaurants and shops.

Still owned by the original owner, Shady Island has had the pleasure of serving in excess of two million customers over the past 20 years with delicious seafood, pasta and steak along with fine wines and premium beers. Our fish and chips are known as "the best on the Boardwalk". Fresh oysters, served year-round, are sought after by oyster lovers everywhere.

We are open 7 days a week to serve you, whether you are a Steveston "local", a Richmondite, from the lower mainland or visiting from afar. Our courteous, experienced, friendly staff are always ready to welcome you with a smile and help you find that special seat to sit back, relax in the sun or under an umbrella on the patio in summer and order a cold glass of beer or wine. In winter we'll find you a cozy table by the fire or by a window. The best part is you can enjoy our unique waterfront view at any time of the year.
